Moderating How I Made My Film Conversation and Mixer with Shih-Ching Tsou, Director of Left Handed Girl at Dumbo House!

I’m excited to be moderating and hosting How I Made My Film on October 9, noon at Dumbo House - an intimate conversation and mixer between filmmakers Shih-Ching Tsou and Jingjing Tian about the making of Left-Handed Girl (Netflix). The conversation will explore Tsou's experiences as an Asian American and female filmmaker and finding ways to tell personal stories with limited resources.

Shih-Ching Tsou is a New York-based filmmaker born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. Tsou wrote, directed, and produced Left-Handed Girl, which premiered in competition at Cannes Critics’ Week in 2025, where it won the Rail d’Or Audience Award. The film was selected as Taiwan’s submission for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards. She co-wrote and co-directed Take Out with Sean Baker (Academy Award-winning Anora) and has been a longtime collaborator on his films, serving as executive producer and costume designer on Starlet and producer on Tangerine, The Florida Project, and Red Rocket.
